There are three types of fights in story mode:

  • NORMAL:
You just need to beat your opponent
  • COUNTDOWN:
Stories with positive timer gives a fight where you need to beat the enemy before the end of the timer.
(ex: Frieza Saga - Namek's explosion)
  • SURVIVE:
Stories with negative timer gives a fight where your team need to survive up until the end of the timer in order to win.
(ex: Cell Games - The anger inside)

As this isn't visible in the story resume, nor during the fight, apart for the generic timer, this needs to be addressed in the story screen and on the timer between the HP/KI gauges.

I'm open for ideas.

Maybe we could do something simple and color the timer from green to red for the countdown mode, with a speed rate different depending on the base timer ? And a dark red or a red color for the survival's ? A color that doesn't change in survival.

I fear a random color scheme won't help... And I would greatly prefer to keep that for bringing up to attention that the timer is about to finish.

I was just thinking of replacing the READY FIGHT by READY SURVIVE, but I'm still trying to find a name other than "countdown" for the remaining mode.

Those two names could be displayed between BACK and NEXT buttons in the Story Screen.

Yeah it would be great. READY DEFEAT isn't that great, right ? 🫤

Maybe too close to the "normal" fights.

Hmm. How about "READY BEAT"?
Ik its bas but i tried to find any idea possible 😛. the Defeat one is good ngl

I mean, it could stay as "Ready, fight!", after all its not like in a regular fight defeating the opponeng is not the objective as well.

I think seeing the time going down is a good enough indication that you have to win before the time runs out.

But if you want a more specific visual indicator, maybe a little "sand-timer" symbol could help

What if it was an Hourglass like the one Piccolo used to keep Super Buu waiting, not only as a reference but it'd also get the idea across that you need to survive for that long.
