Hi, I've created an account just to talk about this topic,so you can say I'm new here, but actually I've been playing DBD since it was called Tribute and 20 characters were considered "a lot", and it's because of this that I miss so much the times when the battles in story mode were locked from the start.

This might not be as important to everyone as it is to me and maybe a bunch of others, but the sense of progress in this game is what made me fall in love with it; back then I wasn't able to watch the anime and I actually — and I'm not joking here — learned about the story of Dragon Ball Z by playing Devolution, so this game is really important to me when it comes about both my childhood and Dragon Ball in its entirety.

I know that having to play through it all might be tedious to some people, so why not add a cheat code to enable / disable everything? (maybe even a reset button too, while we're at it) or maybe as a wish like you could ask for back then (ugh I really miss those days).

Dunno if someone already talked about this, couldn't find any other topic about it and that's why I decided to make one myself. I completely understand if there's an important reason behind this decision, maybe it had to be deleted for the game to work properly, I honestly don't know, but if there's a way to bring it back please consider doing so, it would really reignite that spark on me to start playing this again, and again, and again and again.

Will we be able to unlock fighters again like in the old versions?
NO. I had to disable this feature, which I really liked, because it's not compatible with adding content: you would have lost your progress with each new version, which led to some angry reactions.

Also, there are so many fighters and backgrounds now that it wouldn't fit in the savefile's size that is very limited. I could only be able unlock the stories. Not the fighters.

Or I could unlock the fighters if they were also stored in an array in the order of unlocking. For example:

alphabetical_order = ["Cell","Frieza","Goku","Vegeta"]; unlock_order = ["Goku","Vegeta","Frieza","Cell"];

And just store the unlock number who would be the array position. Everything before that number would mean unlocked. But it's a nest for so many problems and most of the players not happy with the system that I don't want to waste my time on it...

Because, last but not least, this would be A LOT of work for me, and I prefer to invest that time in other projects.
