A lot has happened lately. While the world feels like it’s falling apart, I’ve been quietly building the new version of Omeganaut for over two years.

Social media, though… it’s become a mess. Just opening Twitter or Facebook drains me. But since that’s still where things live and grow, I’m trying to step back into it.

So if you appreciate my games and would like to help, it costs nothing to like, share, or leave a comment the social posts below.

It truly makes a difference ❤️

This morning, I added a quick transition between the menu and gameplay in Omeganaut. It’s rough, but already gives that nice thrill of piloting a powerful, slightly wonky spaceship 🚀

Let’s go destroy an enemy base on a purple moon. Levels in Omeganaut are short but intense. You’ll get a breather only before choosing your destiny, or in death.

Interestingly enough, Bluesky is doing quite well, and I get in touch with a lot of interesting people.
Facebook is filled with Dragon Ball Devolution fans who are now in their 30s.
And Twitter is seriously broken... 😅

In case you were wondering: yes, I grew up on Return of the Jedi, recorded straight from TV onto VHS 💥

In addition to the smoke and the music layers, I added simple animations to the HP gauge in Omeganaut for some extra bling-bling ✨

There’s still room for improvement in the Omeganaut’s cockpit, but I’m already very pleased with how it turned out 😎

Yesterday, I woke up to find my Twitter account’s visibility tanked...

You can check what I post: it’s just progress updates on my games. This is getting stupid and seriously hurting my projects.

So please like, comment and share to show support 🦋

It’s #screenshotsaturday !!!
Here's the indie game I'm making, and three of its inspirations ✨

I rewrote Omeganaut’s planet generator. It’s now blazing fast and adds real relief. Claim your planet: reply with a screenshot and give it a name 🚀✨

The random generator for planet and moon shapes and colors is rock solid. But before I see what I can do with shaders to make them prettier, I’m going to try replacing the rings with a low-poly version.

I went all in with a full low-poly asteroid belt 💫
Which means the next stage will feature:

  • pink grass
  • blue water
  • purple sky
  • a risk of asteroid shower 🌠

Got a funny bug in Omeganaut’s debug mode: if you force ending the level while still accelerating into a wormhole, then multiple planets spawn. And since the background scroll is plugged to the planet movement, it goes crazy 😅

Oh noes… I’ve got this weird bug in Omeganaut where beams that are destroyed when they go off-camera can sometimes reappear and replace the player’s lasers if they’re fired at the exact same time...
It makes no sense 😭

It’s time for a new moulinette for Omeganaut!
I’m building a system to export a playable demo from the full game without having to manually trim anything or, worse, hide the full game inside the demo. It will automatically trim the full code before compiling 😎✨

By the way, what would be a good call to action to sell the unfinished game at the end of the Omeganaut demo?
I’m thinking of destroying the world and the player... Kind of like the ending of the 1993 DOOM shareware, but a bit better.
(Yes, I’m that old)
